To metaphorically put the spotlight on an issue or subject so that others will notice it, pay more attention to it, and learn more about it.
“Shine a light on something” 或 “shine some light on something” 很形象地通过 “照亮某物” 来表示 “在经过密切关注和缜密分析后，揭示问题、阐明事件的始末或对事件做出解释”。如果想表示 “进一步解释某件事情”，则可以说 “shine more light on something”。
